The vibrant community of Wixams was created in 2007 and will ultimately play host to four welcoming villages with a total of 4,500 homes.
Long-term plans for Wixams include a firm focus in open space, with more than 300 acres if parkland and wetland in the pipeline along with a number of lakes. Currently, you can enjoy time in the fresh air along a network of cycle paths, which connect you to recreational facilities and the neighbouring town of Bedford.
Wixams boasts two full-sized sports pitches plus a play area for children, a Budgens supermarket and a village hall. Over time, the community will include a superstore and library.
When it comes to schooling, Lakeview Primary School in Wixams takes children until the age of 9, while there are plans for a further five schools ranging from lower to upper level in this new community. Children can currently attend Marston Vale Middle School and the Bedford Free Secondary School amongst others outside of Wixams.
