Oundle is a quintessentially English market town famous for its Georgian streets and impressive limestone buildings. There is a market every thursday and a monthly farmers’ market. Two regular bus services run through the town to Peterborough, Corby, Thrapston and Kettering.

Oundle has many traditional independent stores including a bookshop, clockshop, butchers, knitting and sewing supplies, gifts and antiques as well as two modern supermarkets – Waitrose and a Tesco Express.

The Talbot Hotel, one of the town’s principle buildings dating back to the 7th century, offers fine cuisine. There are several other places to eat and drink in town including a number of pubs. Barnwell Country Park is less than a mile from Queen’s Court boasting 37 acres of grassland, reed beds and lakes, home to a wide variety of birds, plants and animals.

Oundle is well known for hosting various festivals throughout the year. Oundle International Festival features classical music and attracts professional musicians from home and abroad. There’s a Fringe Festival with music, comedy and culture as well as festivals showcasing drama, literature and fine foods.

Oundle has its own rugby, tennis and golf clubs and there are various leisure centres and gyms a few miles away. Nearby Peterborough is home to Peterborough United FC. Queen’s Court is less than a mile to the A605 and 14 miles from the Al(M) heading to Grantham and Newark in the north or Cambridge, Stevenage and London in the south.

Families have a choice of primary, middle and high schools in Oundle and Prince William Upper School and Sixth Form Centre is just down the road from Queen’s Court. The town is also home to the well-known Oundle School, a selective independent school whose day pupils and boarders are a familiar site around the town.
