The Kier Living Eastern collection of 440 houses and apartments in Potters Way is one of just six shortlisted in the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards in the Best Large Development category.
Voted for by the public, the winner will be announced at a glittering ceremony at the Waldorf Hilton in London on April 22.
The First Time Buyer Readers’ Award for Best Large Development is open to developments of more than 80 homes, which have used the best design and quality to create an affordable, desirable and inspirational environment, and which have provided additional facilities to benefit the local community and surrounding neighbourhoods.
Judges who selected the short list for the category were looking at how the scheme design stands out and appeals to its target market, and how the scheme benefits the local community
Kier Living Eastern’s Sales and Marketing Director David Thomas explained that Connect21 is a £50.3m collaboration between the developer, Peterborough City Council and the Homes and Communities Agency.
He said: “The homes at Connect21 were created with the first time buyer in mind, as it was clear that many people were being priced out of the property market in Peterborough.
“When it was launched , prices started at just £101,995, with a quarter offered at affordable housing rates. First time buyers could also take advantage of three finance packages including Fair Share. A new phase of apartments is due to be released shortly, with prices starting at just £121,000.”
He added: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award; it’s fantastic news for us and for Peterborough as a whole.”
