“As a result of coronavirus, we are finding more and more of our customers are looking to have an office space in their home. With nearly half of the British workforce currently working from home, and with research suggesting many workers want to continue agile working post-lockdown, the office is no longer seen as a nice to have, but critical for a lot of our customers.
For many, there are real benefits to homeworking – no long commutes, increased flexibility and being around family. In a recent YouGov survey of nearly 4,000 adults conducted for Skillscast, it found that whilst 68% of those surveyed wanted to carry on working from home in the future, many found that their environment was key to successful working, with a third stating distractions in the home were an issue.
A dedicated office space helps with that.
In show homes across the country, we have been highlighting office space to our customers, in some cases it is an office that is a part of the building plans and in others it is a spare bedroom being transformed in to an ideal space to work.
In a recent Forbes top tips article for a home working environment, it included a number of key attributes for a home office, including it being an airy space and full of natural light. What’s more, the right colours, furniture and personalisation are all key.
