Artists are given a blank canvas to create an original piece of art during one day on Saturday 13th July from 8am-6pm.
The artists can work in any style or media and choose their own painting location from within a three-mile radius of Longridge, allowing visitors to watch them while they work.
Submissions are judged on the day with cash prizes for first, second and third place.
Kier Living, which opened its Alston Grange site in Longridge in April, is sponsoring second prize in the competition.
Carolyn Walsh, Sales and Marketing Director for Kier Living Northern, said they were extremely proud to support Create Longridge 2019.
“We are thrilled to be involved with such a vibrant and engaging community event and look forward to seeing the paintings and all the creative work which is produced. Best of luck to everyone taking part!”
After the painting day, a week-long exhibition featuring all the work is held at Longridge Gallery.
Visitors will be able to see the prize-winning paintings, buy original artwork and vote for their own favourite to win the exhibition visitors' prize.
Organiser, Alistair Sheret said last year’s event attracted 70 artists.
“At the end of the day the artists will, collectively, have captured our town, its people and its surroundings on one particular day.
“The day is enormous fun with wonderful interaction between the artists, the sponsors and the visitors.
There will also be Create Longridge fringe events taking place across the town including children’s art and pottery classes and painting workshops. Visit www.createlongridge.co.uk to find out more.
