Pupils at Long
Melford Church of England Primary School enjoyed a fun lesson with a serious
message thanks to housebuilder Kier Living Eastern.
The
company’s safety mascot Kieran, visited the school together with Daniel Ward, who talked about building site safety at Elms Croft, Kier
Living Eastern’s new homes development on Rodbridge Hill, Long Melford.
Yvette
Christy, marketing manager for
Kier Living Eastern said: “We really enjoyed our visit to the school
where the well-behaved children were so keen to learn how our building teams
stay safe while they are building houses. Our health and safety environment
officer Daniel and Kieran modelled protective clothing and reminded the
children never to play on building sites.
“We also discussed the fascinating world of the built environment and the
breadth of careers available within it.”
Headteacher
Amanda Woolmer said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Kier
Living Eastern for presenting such an interesting and entertaining assembly on
health and safety and for delivering a really important message on why it is
important for children be safe and stay away from building sites. The children
thoroughly enjoyed the occasion, especially meeting Kieran, who is now an
honorary member of our school!”
