The awards, which took place at the Crowne Plaza, Plymouth, showcased buildings and design teams that have faced challenges such as complex technical or construction issues and building site constraints, as well as innovative, smart and creative solutions that have been implemented in building projects in the South West.
Darren Wills, Head of Technical, who attended the ceremony said: “I am really proud of our teams at Kier Living South West for winning this regional award. This award reflects the high level of collaboration with the Local Authority and desire of the whole team to produce a quality product.
“The teams have developed strong working relationships with the building control officers in Plymouth at the detailed design and production stages. They have consistently provided feedback that they are impressed with the presentation of our developments, attention to detail and the overall look, feel and quality being delivered.”
Commenting about the event on the LABC website, Paul Everall CBE, Chief Executive at LABC says: “These awards are different. They aren’t about good looks or fancy design (although many winners incorporate both). They are about quality and standards. No other building awards look at how well buildings are put together from start to finish and the skills and competencies of those who design and construct them. We are very proud of everyone involved – they show the way ahead for the industry.”
