Kier Living has donated
£300 worth of books to Bourne Elsea Park Church of England Primary School in
Bourne, Lincolnshire to support the accessibility of reading materials for its
pupils. The books donated will predominately support learning for pupils in Year
Five, which now has two forms due to increased pupil numbers.
Members of the Kier Living Eastern team visited the school and presented the
books to the school during a socially distanced visit. The school wanted to
expand their collection of books to continue
to develop a life-long love of reading, both for pleasure and for learning.
Kier Living is committed to supporting communities in areas in which it builds,
with its Elsea Park development catering for all, with a range of 2,3 and
4-bedroom homes.
Lucy Lee, sales & marketing
manager from Kier Living’s Eastern region, states: “Following the outbreak of
COVID-19, we know it has been a challenging time for schools and we felt
compelled to support Bourne Elsea Park CE Primary Academy, which is on the
doorstep of one of our developments, by providing books that we hope pupils
will enjoy, learn from and inspire them to read more.”
Peter Bellamy, Acting Head of School at
Bourne Elsea Park CE Primary Academy, states “We are all absolutely thrilled to receive this incredibly
generous donation of fabulous books. We are so grateful to Kier Living who have
contributed and we just know these fantastic story and non-fiction books are
going to go a long way towards ensuring all the children at Bourne Elsea Park
CE Primary Academy continue to develop a life- long love of reading.”
