The Scotland award winners were announced at a sparkling lunch event held at the Sheraton Hotel in Edinburgh. Expert judges from the RICS applauded the calibre of the entries received this year, commenting on the exceptional talent and vision displayed and the diversity of the schemes in the Residential category.
David Thomas, Sales and Marketing Director, said: “We are delighted that Hawkhead Village has won in these prestigious industry awards. It recognises that we use the best design and quality to create affordable, desirable and inspirational homes in Scotland.”
Hawkhead Village in Paisley is a community of more than 300 homes built around the former Hawkhead Hospital site and combines both new and refurbished homes. Architects have retained elements of the original art deco style used at the site by world-famous Scottish artist Thomas Smith Tait. Current prices start at £155,495 for a three-bedroom home.
Jim Collins, Kier Living Caledonia General Manager commented: “Kier Living Caledonia is extremely proud of the work Kier is doing providing first-class homes in Scotland and for one of our sites to win an award like this is fantastic. It is a real boost for the whole team to have our work commended in this way.”
Hawkhead Village has created an exciting new community for Paisley. It complements a £50 million renovation for the town, which is walking distance away with its museums, galleries, parks and Victorian and Edwardian architecture.
The development includes both well-designed new build homes and a number of carefully refurbished properties created within several impressive buildings. A number of former hospital staff cottages have been transformed into bespoke bungalows and terraced homes, giving
buyers the chance to own a unique property with all the benefits of a new build inside. The local and wider community has been pleased to see the renovation of these important former hospital buildings.
