Artist signs limited edition prints at Alston Grange

17th December 2019

Kier Living was pleased to welcome artist David Youds to Alston Grange to sign limited edition prints of his prize winning work which are being given to new residents as house warming gifts.

The signed prints of Bowland View were commissioned after David won second prize in a local art competition sponsored by Kier Living called Create Longridge.

David visited Alston Grange to sign 40 prints and meet with local people.

He also chatted about his recent appearance on the Sky Arts TV channel after he was a heat winner in their prestigious competition, Landscape Artist of the Year 2019.

David said: “I’m pleased to be at Alston Grange to sign limited editions of Bowland View – the landscape around Longridge is truly beautiful and it was a pleasure to capture it on canvas.

“I hope new homeowners enjoy my artistic interpretation and it makes a welcome addition to their homes.”

Alistair Sheret of the Longridge Gallery arranged the artist signing and also Create Longridge - a unique art event which attracts professionals and amateurs from all over the UK.

Kier Living sponsored second prize and the original Bowland View is on display in the Alston’s Grange’s sales office. The competition gives artists a blank canvas to create an original piece during one day.

The artists can work in any style or media and choose their own painting location within a three-mile radius of Longridge, allowing people to watch them while they work. Carolyn Walsh, Sales and Marketing Director for Kier Living Northern, said it was a pleasure to welcome David – and create something very special for people moving into Alston Grange.

“At Kier Living we pride ourselves on building homes and neighbourhoods. By supporting Create Longridge we’ve been able to get involved in the local community and create something special for our customers.

“These signed, limited edition prints make a very special house warming gift – and are even more interesting because of David’s success in Sky Art’s Landscape Artist of the Year – he’s certainly one to watch.”
