Living in Bedford
Our new homes in Bedford aren’t just fantastic properties, they also allow you to make the most of everything this famous market town has to offer.
There’s everything you need in terms of amenities, as there’s a plethora of chain and independent shops across Bedford’s high streets and three shopping arcades. This is alongside the equally impressive choice of bars, restaurants and cafes – plus those of you with children have a range of great schools to choose from. What’s more, there’s a bustling nightlife and a number of culturally significant sites including art galleries, museums and libraries and top entertainment venues like the Corn Exchange and the Quarry Theatre.
As the town dates back to the 9th century it is brimming with historical sights and attractions. Just a few examples include the ruins of Bedford Castle, St Paul’s Church and many impressive buildings showcasing the best in Victorian and Edwardian architecture.
There’s plenty of green space and parkland around Bedford too, including Bedford Park and Priory Country Park – both of which are ideal for quiet walks, jogging or simply getting some fresh air. On top of this, you can also take a stroll along the embankment of the River Great Ouse, which winds its way through the town. Or, for something a little more adventurous, you can take to the water with one of Bedford’s many canoeing, kayaking and rowing clubs.

The Surrounding Area
Thanks to the excellent transport links, you can quickly get around the area and head further afield from our new homes in Bedford. The town’s two railway stations offer direct routes to cities in both the north and south including London, while the main A road into Bedford (the A6) is ideal for commuting. What’s more, the town sits between both the A1 and M1, giving you more options for travelling across the country via these major routes.
Across Bedfordshire you can also find plenty of things to do and great places to visit. From scenic walking trails, to quaint villages, countless golf courses and even water sports facilities, it’s certainly a place where lovers of the great outdoors are spoilt for choice.
So whether you’re going for a hike up the chalk hills of Dunstable Downs - a part of the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – heading to Wyboston Lakes Complex or seeing the historic Woburn Abbey and nearby safari park, there’s certain to be an activity for you to enjoy.
