The town is located at the western end of Longridge Fell, a long ridge above the meandering River Ribble. As a result, it commands a view of the whole of the Fylde Plain. If you climb to the top of the fell, it's possible to see the Welsh Mountains, the Isle of Man, Ingleborough and the Loud Valley.
