Stortford Fields lifestyle image

Bishop's Stortford boasts a long and interesting history, not least due to its position on the key Roman road to Colchester. The town was established in a ford, or a crossing point, on the river. Unusually, the River Stort is named after the town, which was known in Saxon times at Bishop's Esterteferd.

The impressive St Michael's Church stands in the heart of the town and largely dates back to the early 1400s. Historians believe there has been a church on the site since the seventh century.

With the glorious Hertfordshire countryside on your doorstep and the delights of cosmopolitan London and Cambridge within easy reach, the lifestyle offered by our new builds in Bishop’s Stortford provide plenty of choice for your free time.
